No need to reinvent the wheel. Singer/songwriter Tom Fallon did a great job filming the inside of a Japanese grocery store. With the exception of the wall-o-rice (Kashiwa is known for growing rice, so there’s pretty much just Kashiwa rice here… no variety), it’s very similar to what ours looks like — wiener bread, dried squid snacks and all.
There’s a few ‘bad’ words in the monologue, so parents showing this to kids consider yourself warned.

Very fun to watch! The water bottles are very *neat*–I’d use one of those! ;) So, what do you do to keep warm during the daytime?
Dress very warm!!
We have one kerosene heater running in the daytime in the living room + the floors in the kitchen and living room are heated – hot water circulates under them – much like a radiator.
If you have to leave the kitchen or living room… brrr!!!! Can see your breath in the bathroom.
We have kerosene heaters that shut off after three hours, so we put those on at night. Quick warm up the rooms before bed and then get under warm covers. Wake up to 34 degree rooms :O
Interesting! I want to know what “designer rice” is. The candy /toy aisle looks so fun! I enjoyed listening to the background music-is it really that LOUD?!
