Brilliant Pink Valentine’s Sunrise

This morning’s sunrise can only be described as thrilling.

The sunrise reflected off of the snow, creating a pink glow that brought the heavens down to earth. It was like a Valentine’s Day gift from God Himself.

Six years ago today, I received an even more amazing gift : Micah, who arrived after a mere 45 minute labor.

Eager to get out of bed on his birthday, Micah was awake with the sun.

He was peeking out the window when I came in to check on him.

“Did you see the sun, Mom?”

“Yes!” I said, camera already in hand. “I’m going to go catch it for you so you can save it forever!”

Cupcake Recipe (What To Do With Leftover New Year’s Champagne)

There is one bottle of champagne left over from last night’s New Year’s Eve Party at our place.

If I add cream cheese to our shopping list, I’ll have all of the ingredients for @sprinklebakesSparkling Champagne Cupcakes.

The recipe appears to be great as is, but I’m thinking for a twist I could add orange zest, orange flavoring, and orange bits to the cupcake batter for mimosa cupcakes.

I love it when recipes turn my gears!

Canned Tomato Sauce

Tom’s tomato sauce is awesome.

It is so good, you could drink it from a glass and want more.

He made an enormous batch upon the promise I would can it today.

I did.

It was easy.

If I could do it, anyone can.

(“Can.” Get it?) ;)
